Fashion Blogging

I love blogs, I really do. My latest fascination is with fashion, and daily wardrobe blogs, I like to spend a few precious moments of down time at work just looking at pictures, taking them as inspiration to add a subtly tied scarf or a belt or some block colour to brighten up my day. Clothing is incredibly interesting, I love to browse to shop, but often find I'm drawn back to something in a shop that I have a similar version of, I suppose that's why I like it. I, like most young women have a bursting wardrobe, but maybe 50% of my wardrobe I wear on a regular basis? do these clothes fit correctly? are they flattering? I think I am embarking on a declutter and rearrangement of my clothes. I am toying with the idea of taking 50% of my clothes out of my wardrobe (storing in a suitcase etc) and seeing how I get on with the rest? Will it work? Maybe I'll write about it here :)

Day 3 of 08, not to shabby, feeling good, looking forward to the weekend, not really doing any work yet. But I will .... soon .

slight tickle still holidaying in my throat, dry and annoying hopefully it will pass soon, the weather has taken a cold schrill turn, leaving the wind nipping at every inch of freckled skin available, wrapping up is a necessity.

I learnt about asparagus yesterday, I don't believe I have ever eaten it, so I will look forward to tasting it this spring.

work is good, lots to do for college but I'll get there, more than half way thru and now talk turns to thesis topics, it will be interesting.

I love my button, he is still living across the border, we enjoyed our holidays together. I look forward to seeing him on saturday.

I look around and enjoy the 3rd of January 2008.

Feeling Sad - but working on it.

Going through a bit of a rough patch, miss my boy a lot, it's so hard only seeing each other at weekends, the week goes by in a whirlwind but it's hard to adjust into seeing him at the weekend then 24 hours for 3 days, we both feel abit out of it, neither of us are settled if I visit him and he visits me. It's hard to balance spending time together without pressure being put on the situation. We both feel abit like we need to have these fantastic weekends because time is limited. It's stressful. I am hopeful though, and I'm doing my best.

Going to New York on saturday, hurray! :) looking forward to that, have lots of planning to do, looking forward to introducing my mammy to it. She's excited.

and then the Christmas Party :) and then a few weeks off.

We have a bit inspection Monday 2 weeks - I'm nervous but there's not much more we can do, they can only make observations and we can try and improve things.. I hope it goes ok.

I got a nice payrise last week so yey, good to hang around with an old friend who I haven't seen for a while.

Come on life :) looking forward to a rest at Christmas.

Personal Finance Blogs

I love personal finance blogs, LOVE them, would happily read them all day. I suppose I'm interested in money, interested in planning a good life, getting good value, exploring pensions, savings, investments etc..

Most of the personal finance blogs are american, so some of the terminology products etc aren't transferable, different systems etc, however it is easy to apply the principle of thought to our own options here in Ireland. I think over the next few weeks I may explore my thoughts on it and see how my plan takes me..

I have no debt and don't intend on entering in debt unless it is a sound investment, maybe a mortgage in the future etc (if it makes sense) time will tell.

I want to understand pensions schemes better, I've just joined my company's scheme and am happy about it, but have yet to grasp the full extent of how it works..

So to exploring! :)

Productive Day

It's warm today, and it is a very welcome change after our mamoth 50 days + of rain all throughout the summer. So I'm happy it's September.

Work is busy, lots of deadlines, management have had a change of direction with how we are managing our project timelines, so it's all about calendar dates now, and me in my little one person department cannot be a bottle neck! :) I never am though, when you tend to be the only one responsible for it, you can't pass the buck....

Seems like I'll be off to Wales to do a manufacturing audit on an external contractor in the next few weeks so that's new for me. Have a bit of reading to do in prep.... Sometimes people are surprised when they meet me as I'm quite young for the position that I hold but I'll keep working on it.

Today is wednesday and work is busy.

Time Passes.....

You know, I had completely forgotten about here, to the extent that it took me 25 minutes to remember the title of the blog, racking my brains, visualising the design but just falling short of seeing the title, and the more I thought about it, the more it dangled just out of reach!

Anyway, I got here...... eventually :) I'm trying to figure out why it came to me today, to route out this old blog and write again... I'm slightly unnerved by linking the blog to my Google account as I enjoy the air of anonymity, and this is probably why I haven't visited in so long...
then it just slipped off my radar.

Life is fast paced at the moment. My lovely boy is in northern ireland Mon to Friday working, so we are making the most of our weekends together, it's really ok so far, I'm very happy that the adjustment is going well, you always hope things will be ok but sometimes reality is tougher. Needless to say, give it 3 or 4 months and it may be a different story but I can be hopeful.

A few people close to me are going through some rough times, and I'm doing my best to be there for them, it's difficult though, it's difficult not to get a little frustrated when the situation is constant, I sometimes feel there is only so many times I can say the same thing. Maybe I'll write about it again soon....

Today is tuesday and music makes me happy :)

Guilty Again

No more promises, I will write when I write :) and be happy with that.
Life is good, 2007, who knew, it's flying along.

So goals, resolutions? not really, but a determination to live simply but abundantly, to make time for myself and loved ones, and to maximise free time, to be proactive in eating well, and looking after my body and soul, and to sing, study, love and laugh, think that'll do :)

Back to college tomorrow for my second term as a Masters student :) I am enjoying it, it's tough, and it takes determination and discipline, and I hope to improve on all this, this term, I am competitive in theory, just have to put that into practice.

The Blogs I read daily are my soap operas, I like to keep up, check out the receipes or the life struggles or the shopping escapades, whatevers happening. Seeing life through other eyes and situations.

Right, back to work, have lots to do today, some compliance issues to sort, lets get cracking!
